The press launch of Paintistanbul – Raw Materials, Construction Chemicals and Adhesive Raw Materials Technologies Fair, Eurasia's largest paint raw materials and coatings fair, took place at Çırağan Palace. Hosted by Kenan Baytaş, President of the Paint Manufacturers Association (BOSAD), Cengiz Yaman, Chairman of the Board of CNG Group, and Hakan Ünel, Chairman of the Paintistanbul Fair and Congress Working Group, the event featured assessments of the sector and highlighted topics regarding Paintistanbul 2026.

BOSAD President Baytaş: "Our Industry Has a Size of 1 Million Tons"

Delivering the opening speech, BOSAD President Kenan Baytaş stated that the paint industry ranks among Turkey's strategic and pioneering sectors with its production capacity, advanced technological infrastructure, and high value-added output. He noted that the industry, which plays a critical role in areas ranging from construction to automotive, energy to maritime, is an indispensable part of modern life with both protective and aesthetic solutions.

Baytaş emphasized that as the Paint Manufacturers Association (BOSAD), they represent approximately 85% of the sector with over 130 members. "Paintistanbul, which is recognized worldwide by its participant and visitor numbers, brings domestic and foreign companies together, establishing a significant trade and interaction bridge in paints, raw materials, and construction chemicals. We believe that this year's fair will make valuable contributions to our sector, our industry, and our national economy," he said.

Sharing insights into the Turkish paint industry, Baytaş noted that the sector commands approximately 2% of the global market with a volume of around 1 million tons. Highlighting that exports of paints and raw materials exceeded 1.5 billion dollars as of 2025, clearly demonstrating the sector's international integration, Baytaş continued: "In Europe's production rankings, we rank fifth after Germany, Spain, France, and Italy. Our goal is to move up this ladder and achieve a stronger position on a global scale. We aim to go beyond being a regional production base and play a more active role in the world market with innovative and sustainable solutions."

Kayalar: "Our Industry Has an Economic Size of 2.47 Billion Dollars"

Speaking at the event, BOSAD Vice President Tolga Kayalar emphasized that the global paint market is expected to reach a size of approximately 198 billion dollars and a volume of 48 million tons by 2026, with projections of 227 billion dollars and 52.7 million tons by 2030. Noting that the Turkish paint industry is a significant player in its region with its deep-rooted production culture, strong industrial infrastructure, and widespread SME structure, Kayalar stated: "According to BOSAD 2024 data, the Turkish paint industry has a domestic market volume of approximately 926,000 tons and an economic size of 2.47 billion dollars. The gap between our production capacity and our value share in exports represents the most concrete growth area for our sector. The real goal is not just to produce more, but to create greater value and translate that into exports."

Akçalı: "One of Our Industry's Strongest Assets Is Its Rapid Adaptability to Global Regulations and Changing Standards"

Speaking at the event, BOSAD Vice President Akın Akçalı emphasized Turkey's advantages in the global paint sector, stating: "A significant portion of the world's largest paint manufacturers view Turkey not merely as a market but also as a production and export hub, making major investments here. Turkey's strong production infrastructure, fast manufacturing capability, quality human resources, and flexible industrial structure provide substantial advantages, particularly in operations targeting European, African, and Middle Eastern markets. Additionally, one of our industry's strongest assets is its ability to adapt very quickly to global regulations and changing standards."

BOSAD Vice President and Fair Committee Chairman Hakan Ünel, in his speech, stated that they aim to deliver an efficient and sustainable event that is followed on the international stage, emphasizing that social and technological activities are planned to raise awareness and create a strong impact.

CNG Group Chairman Yaman: "We Are Preparing to Host Numerous Participants and Visitors from Europe and Asia"

Taking the floor after the BOSAD Board Members, Cengiz Yaman, Chairman of the Board of CNG Group, stated that the fair, which this year adopts the theme "Discover the Magic of Colours," has risen with its momentum to become the second largest in Europe and the third largest in the world. Noting that a record number of participants was achieved this year, Yaman continued: "Although we initially set out with a target of 350 participants, we have surpassed expectations with over 400 registrations from 35 different countries to date. We are preparing to host numerous participants and visitors from Europe and Asia, particularly from Germany, Belgium, and Italy. We have raised our target foreign participant ratio of 35% to a record level of 46%. The profile of our fair is also strengthening every day. We have achieved qualitative growth, increasing our paint manufacturer ratio from 6% to 20% and our overall manufacturer count from 7% to 25%. The fact that 38% of our participants are exhibiting for the first time is the most concrete evidence of the search for change and innovation in the sector. Our goal is to bring together over 10,000 industry professionals under one roof, including 3,500 international visitors from 70 countries."

Yaman also emphasized that the three-day event will function not only as a commercial platform but also as a sectoral "academy," adding that through sessions and panels, they will collectively shed light on the future of the industry—from the latest technologies to sustainability solutions.
